Kisi is in the far north of Oyo State in Nigeria, in savanna country near the border with Kwara. The map shows a compact town. Its streets gather around a central area, and the main roads run out from there across the open land toward neighbouring towns.
The land around the town is mostly farmland and scattered settlement. On a black-and-white map that open land is quiet, with only a few paths and the lines of the main roads. The town itself is a denser knot where streets meet at irregular angles. It has grown gradually rather than to a plan.
