Castle and dansker
The Teutonic castle with its long arcaded bridge to the dansker tower is one of the most recognisable Gothic complexes in Poland and marks the centre of the map.

La mappa
Kwidzyn Map Poster & Print
Kwidzyn lies in northern Poland, on high ground on the eastern side of the wide Vistula valley. On a map the old town sits on the edge of that escarpment, with the Gothic castle and cathedral at its heart and streets spreading out from there toward newer districts, while the lowland toward the river opens into fields and meadows.
The castle, built by the Teutonic Order, is known for its dansker, a tower connected to the main building by a long covered bridge on arches, one of the most distinctive structures of its kind. Together with the neighbouring cathedral it forms a compact ensemble that remains the visual anchor of the town, both on the ground and on the map.
A Kwidzyn map poster shows how medieval and modern layers meet. Around the castle and cathedral the streets are shorter and more irregular, while outer neighbourhoods follow straighter post-war plans. Industrial areas, including the large paper mill, appear as broad blocks, and the lowlands of the Vistula valley give the composition a sense of openness to the west.

The Vistula lowland
West of the town the land drops into the broad, flat valley of the Vistula, a wide open area that frames the built-up town on the poster.
Old town core
Next to the castle and cathedral, a compact area of irregular streets preserves the older layout and contrasts with the straighter blocks beyond.
