The river mouth
The Chanthaburi River meets the sea here, and its wide estuary is the strongest shape on the map, dividing the land and bending the shoreline around it.

La mappa
Laem Sing Map Poster & Print
Laem Sing sits on the eastern coast of Thailand, where the Chanthaburi River widens and runs into the Gulf of Thailand. From above, the water sets the layout. The estuary cuts a broad channel through the land, sandbars and inlets mark the shore, and the town's streets stay close to the riverbank and the sea instead of spreading inland.
The district lies in Chanthaburi Province, a region known for fruit orchards, fishing and the gem trade. Laem Sing also has a place in the history books. At the end of the nineteenth century French forces occupied the river mouth for about a decade, and buildings from that time still stand near the shore. Visitors come for those sites and for the quiet beaches along the coast.
A Laem Sing map poster puts all of this into clean black lines on white. The river channel and the coastline carry most of the drawing, and the short streets of the town look like a thin layer of settlement laid along the water. The result is a coastal map where the shape of the estuary tells most of the story.

Gulf coastline
The coast of the Gulf of Thailand runs along the edge of the district, with small inlets and beaches that show up as a soft, uneven line against open water.
Town by the water
The town's streets stay close to the river and the shore, a compact cluster that makes the settlement look anchored to the water that shaped it.
