La mappa
Lake Placid Map Poster & Print
Lake Placid lies in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York, a clear, deep lake just north of the village that shares its name. Large wooded islands in the middle split the water into two long arms, usually called East Lake and West Lake. On a map, the lake looks like two parallel channels joined around its islands.
Much of the shoreline is lined with camps and cottages, many of them reachable only by boat, and few roads run along the lake itself. The village of Lake Placid actually sits mainly around the smaller Mirror Lake to the south, with its main street following that shore. The map shows the two lakes side by side, one quiet and one busy.
The village hosted the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980, and the 1980 Games produced the hockey game known as the Miracle on Ice. Whiteface Mountain rises to the northeast. A Lake Placid map poster shows the lake and its islands, Mirror Lake and the village streets in one frame, a compact view of a well-known winter town.

Mirror Lake
South of the main lake, the smaller Mirror Lake sits within the village. Main Street runs along its shore, and the densest streets on the map surround it.
Roadless shores
Much of the lakeshore has no road, so the outline is drawn mainly by water and the small footprints of camps, a quiet contrast to the village streets.

Perché Lake Placid
Una mappa che ha un significato
Lake Placid draws people back for skiing, summer camps and Olympic history, and some families have returned to the same camp for generations. A map of the lake and village records that attachment in a clean, simple form.
Add a camp name, a family name or a year in the title and subtitle, and choose from five styles, from Noir for a winter mood to Sand for summer. The $9 HD download includes six print sizes with no watermark, or you can order a matte print with an optional frame.
