Laksar lies in Haridwar district in Uttarakhand, on the flat Gangetic plain south of the Shivalik hills. It is best known as a railway junction, where a main line meets the branch toward Haridwar and Dehradun, and its map is organised around those tracks. Streets cluster near the station and spread outward into residential and market areas.
Beyond the town, the land is largely agricultural, with fields, canals and village roads stretching across the plain. The Ganges flows not far to the east, and the region's irrigation channels and roads create a mix of straight and gently curving lines around the town.
