Largo sits in the middle of the Pinellas peninsula on Florida's Gulf Coast, between Clearwater to the north and St. Petersburg to the south. From above, long, straight arterial roads enclose large suburban blocks, and curving residential streets, ponds and retention lakes fill the spaces between them. The Gulf beaches lie a short drive to the west.
The Pinellas Trail, a long rail-trail built on a former railway corridor, runs through the city and appears on the map as a narrow, continuous line. Largo Central Park and the Florida Botanical Gardens provide open green space, and Heritage Village preserves historic buildings gathered from across the county.
