La mappa
Lecheng Map Poster & Print
Lecheng is the urban centre of Lechang, in the north of Guangdong province near the border with Hunan. On a map, the town lies along a river valley, with hills rising around it on several sides. The built-up area follows the flat land by the water, so it is long rather than round, and the streets run parallel to the river.
This is a mountainous part of Guangdong, very different from the dense Pearl River Delta further south. Roads and rail lines follow the valleys because the terrain leaves few other routes. The town has grown across the river with bridges linking the two banks, and newer districts reach out along the valley floor.
A Lecheng map poster shows how terrain shapes a town. The river gives the composition its central line, and the edges of the built-up area follow the contours of the valley. In the minimalist style, the contrast between the dense riverside streets and the empty hills around them is strong and clear.

Valley-shaped layout
The town is stretched out along the valley floor where the land is flat. Its elongated outline is the clearest sign of the mountainous setting.
Transport corridors
Roads and railway lines run through the same valley as the river. They appear as parallel lines that lead out of the town towards neighbouring regions.

Perché Lecheng
Una mappa che ha un significato
A map of Lecheng keeps the shape of a hometown in the northern hills in view, especially for those who have moved to the cities of the delta. Its river-and-valley structure also makes a well-balanced print.
Customise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for instance with names in any language you choose, and select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital files come in six print sizes as PNG and PDF.
