La mappa
Lerdo de Tejada Map Poster & Print
Lerdo de Tejada is a small town in southern Veracruz, on the Gulf of Mexico coastal plain between the Papaloapan lowlands and the volcanic hills of Los Tuxtlas. Its streets follow a neat, regular grid. Blocks of nearly equal size spread out from the centre in every direction until they meet the fields.
The surrounding country is flat, green and wet. Farmland runs up to the edge of town, much of it planted with sugar cane as across this part of Veracruz, and streams, ponds and lagoons are scattered across the plain toward the coast. From above, the tight town grid looks like a small, deliberate pattern inside a looser landscape of plots and water.
A Lerdo de Tejada map poster carries a surname from Mexico's nineteenth-century Reform era, along with the geography of the lowlands that shaped local life. It suits people from the town and the nearby coast, and anyone who likes how a simple grid looks against open land.

Gulf coastal plain
Low, flat land stretches toward the Gulf of Mexico. Farm plots and field boundaries form a lighter, irregular texture around the town.
Water on the plain
Streams, ponds and lagoon margins break up the countryside. Their curved outlines soften the strict geometry of the streets.
