The Danube
The main river dominates the composition, a broad band of water that fills much of the frame and gives the poster its strongest shape.

La mappa
Liberpolis Map Poster & Print
Liberpolis appears in map data at a site on the Danube floodplain, near the border between Croatia and Serbia, in the area claimed by the self-proclaimed micronation of Liberland, which no country recognises, and the name is linked to that project. There is little in the way of a town here: the map is dominated by water and woodland, with only a few tracks crossing the ground.
That makes it an unusual subject. The Danube here is broad and restless, and over time it has left side channels, backwaters and curved former beds across the lowland. Seen from above these shapes carry the drawing, much as streets would elsewhere, and the river itself forms a wide band running between the Croatian and Serbian banks.
A Liberpolis map poster is less a city portrait than a study of a river landscape with a curious name attached. It appeals to people who follow the Liberland story, to those interested in borders and disputed ground, and to anyone who simply likes the look of a big river drawn in fine, calm lines.

Side channels and oxbows
Old meanders and backwaters loop through the floodplain, drawing curves that no planner laid out. They change with the river over the years, so the map is a snapshot of a moving landscape.
Border ground
The site lies on floodplain left in limbo by the unresolved Croatia–Serbia border dispute, the gap that the Liberland project used as the basis for its claim.

Perché Liberpolis
Una mappa che ha un significato
Some maps are hung for home, others for curiosity. Liberpolis belongs to the second group: a place better known as an idea than as streets, drawn here as river, forest and a few faint tracks. It makes a quiet talking point on a study or office wall.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be rewritten, so you can label it Liberpolis, Liberland or simply Danube. Blueprint and Noir suit the water well, and Classic black & white, Paper and Sand are also available. A free 900 px watermarked preview comes first; the $9 HD files include six print sizes.
