Rows of housing

La mappa
Lomas del Sur Map Poster & Print
Lomas del Sur is a residential area in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, on the southern fringe of the Guadalajara metropolitan area in Jalisco. Like many developments built there in recent decades, it has a strongly planned layout, and from above it appears as tightly packed rows of houses arranged in long, parallel blocks.
The pattern is regular but not monotonous: streets are grouped into sections, with small parks, schools and access roads breaking up the rows. At the edges, the development meets open land and older rural roads, and on the map the transition from dense housing to fields is abrupt. Beyond lie the hills of the region and the wider spread of Guadalajara.
A Lomas del Sur map poster is an unusually graphic image. The repeated rows of houses create a texture almost like woven fabric, and the few open spaces stand out sharply in black and white. It is a fitting portrait of a place many families chose for their first home, and it looks striking framed on a plain wall.

Parks and open spaces
Small green areas and community spaces interrupt the rows at intervals, appearing on the map as calm open shapes within the dense residential pattern.
Edge of the metro area
The district sits where the Guadalajara metropolitan area meets farmland, so the map shows a clear boundary between the planned streets and the rural land around them.
