Valley-floor streets
The town's streets squeeze onto the flat ground of the valley, giving the centre an elongated outline that follows the line of the watercourse.

La mappa
Luhe Map Poster & Print
Luhe is a small town in southern Gansu, in the folded hill country where the province gives way to the Qinling ranges. From above, the settlement follows a valley floor, and its streets are packed onto the narrow strip of level ground beside the watercourse. Steep slopes rise on either side, so the town grows along the valley rather than across it.
The surrounding map is dominated by relief. Village roads climb side valleys, and fields sit on terraces and small flats wherever the slope allows. The result is a network of lines that branch like a river system, with the town sitting at one of the junctions where routes and valleys meet.
A Luhe map poster turns that branching pattern into a clean graphic. The dense lines of the town centre contrast with the sparse, winding roads beyond, and the empty space of the hillsides gives the design room to breathe. It is a fitting keepsake for anyone with family roots in this corner of Gansu.

Branching side valleys
Roads and villages reach up into side valleys, producing a tree-like pattern of lines that spreads outward from the town.
Hillside space
Steep, mostly unbuilt slopes appear as broad white areas, framing the settlement and emphasising how closely it follows the terrain.
