Mosam River
The river curves through the middle of the city, splitting it into two dense halves joined by a few crossings. It is the clearest single line on the map.

La mappa
Malegaon Map Poster & Print
Malegaon grew along the Mosam River in Nashik district, and on a map the river is the thread that ties the city together. On both banks the lanes are narrow and closely packed, a fine web of short streets that shows up as solid texture in black and white. Wider roads cut through this texture and lead out onto the flat, farmed land of the surrounding plateau.
The city is one of India's major powerloom centres, and much of its fabric of homes and small workshops grew around weaving. It has also become known for its self-made film culture. Local amateur productions, shot on tiny budgets with neighbourhood casts, became the subject of documentaries and a feature film, and made the town's name familiar far beyond Maharashtra.
A Malegaon map poster shows how tightly the city is built. The old quarters near the river look almost like stitched cloth, a fitting image for a weaving town. Further out the pattern loosens into newer blocks and open fields, so the frame moves from dense to spacious in a way that feels true to the place.

Weaving quarters
Neighbourhoods of homes and powerloom workshops form some of the densest street patterns in the region, with very short blocks and narrow lanes.
Plateau surroundings
Past the built-up edge the land is flat and open. Roads run out in straight lines toward nearby towns and give the city a clear outline.

Perché Malegaon
Una mappa che ha un significato
For people from Malegaon, including many who have moved to Mumbai or abroad, this map captures a place that is hard to describe in words. The dense lanes, the river and the edge of the fields feel like home.
Add the family name, the neighbourhood or a meaningful date in the title and subtitle, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand give the textile quarters a warm, fabric-like tone.
