Valley-floor core
The oldest streets occupy the flattest ground and form a dense knot of short blocks around the centre, until the terrain forces them to bend and branch.

La mappa
Mantena Map Poster & Print
Mantena sits in the far east of Minas Gerais, close to the border with Espírito Santo, in a landscape of steep, rounded hills and pasture. From above, the town is a tight core of streets on the lowest ground, with newer blocks climbing the slopes wherever the terrain allows. Roads leave in a few directions toward neighbouring towns, and the built area quickly thins into fields.
The pattern is typical of the region's interior towns. A central square and church anchor a short grid, and the grid bends as soon as it meets a hillside or a stream. Watercourses show up as green seams between neighbourhoods, and the edges of town are set as much by the terrain as by any plan. The result is a compact, readable layout that suits a poster well.
A Mantena map poster keeps that geometry and removes everything else. Streets become fine black lines, blocks become quiet white space, and the way the town follows its valley becomes the whole subject. No labels compete for attention. What remains is the outline of a place among its hills, framed by a title and the coordinates of the town centre.

Streets meeting slopes
At the edges, roads change from straight runs to curves that follow the contours, a clear record of how the hills decided where people could build.
Roads into the country
A handful of routes run out of town toward neighbouring municipalities and the Espírito Santo border, and they give the composition its strongest diagonal lines.

Perché Mantena
Una mappa che ha un significato
For someone who grew up in Mantena or has family there, the plan is recognisable without a single street name. It is a quiet way to keep a hometown on the wall, whether in a living room in Minas Gerais or in an apartment much further away.
You can change the title, add a subtitle such as a family name or a meaningful date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster, framed if you like.
