Mehestan lies in Alborz Province in northern Iran, on the gently sloping plain between the Alborz mountains and the lowlands to the south. The map shows a relatively young settlement. Its street pattern is mostly regular, with main roads crossing a fabric of residential blocks, and the edges keep spreading outward.
