La mappa
Monsenhor Tabosa Map Poster & Print
Monsenhor Tabosa lies in the semi-arid interior of Ceará, in the country known as the sertão. On a map the town is a small, compact cluster of streets surrounded by a large and sparsely settled municipality. Dirt roads and tracks run out across the landscape to scattered communities, and the terrain around the town is shaped by hills and seasonal watercourses.
The town takes its name from a Catholic monsignor, a common form of tribute in the naming of towns in northeastern Brazil. Life here is closely tied to the rhythm of the dry and rainy seasons, and the map reflects that in the thin lines of streams that flow only part of the year and in the small reservoirs dotted across the countryside.
A Monsenhor Tabosa map poster has a spare, graphic quality. The urban core is dense and neatly defined, while the rest of the frame is mostly open ground crossed by a few fine lines. In a print this contrast becomes the whole story: a small settled place in a wide, dry landscape, drawn with precision and restraint.

Seasonal waterways
Streams that flow mainly during the rainy season, along with small reservoirs, appear as delicate lines and shapes that add detail to the open ground.
