Open street pattern
The town's streets are wide and unevenly spaced and enclose large compounds, so the map has a loose, spacious texture quite unlike the tight grids of older cities.

La mappa
Moussoro Map Poster & Print
Moussoro is the chief town of Barh el Gazel province in west-central Chad, north-east of Lake Chad. It lies in the Sahel, where sparse grassland and sand dominate and rain falls only in a short season. From above, the town is a loose arrangement of compounds and sandy streets. It spreads out across the ground rather than packing densely together.
The province takes its name from the Bahr el Ghazal, a long, usually dry valley that once connected Lake Chad with the Bodélé Depression to the north-east. Herding has long been central to life in the area. Livestock routes and seasonal movements shape the rhythm of the region as much as the town itself does.
A Moussoro map poster shows a settlement defined by open space. Streets and tracks form an irregular web with large blocks between them, and the edges fade gradually into the surrounding plain instead of ending sharply. The result is a sparse, airy composition that looks particularly strong in the Sand or Paper styles.

Roads into the Sahel
A few main routes leave the town across the plain, connecting it to other settlements of central Chad and forming the strongest lines in the composition.
Soft edges
There is no clear boundary. The built area thins gradually into scattered tracks and open ground, so the poster moves gently from settlement to landscape.
