Muñiz is a town in the partido of San Miguel, in the northwest of Greater Buenos Aires. Its map shows the familiar Argentine pattern: square blocks of roughly equal size in a regular grid that extends almost without a break in every direction. Low houses, small shops and tree-lined streets fill the blocks, with larger plots for schools, clubs and plazas.
The San Martín railway line runs through Muñiz, and its station serves commuters travelling toward central Buenos Aires. On the map the line is a long straight cut through the grid. It is one of the few features that interrupt the steady repetition of streets, and it gives the composition a clear direction.
Muñiz borders San Miguel and Bella Vista, and like much of the suburban belt it runs into its neighbours with no visible break in the grid.
