Mogami River
The river passes the edge of town in broad bends, giving the poster a long, soft waterline and separating the streets from the fields beyond.

La mappa
Nagai Map Poster & Print
Nagai sits at the western edge of the Okitama basin in southern Yamagata Prefecture, with the Mogami River flowing past the town on its way north. From above, the built-up area is compact and roughly gridded, held between the river on one side and forested foothills on the other, with rice paddies filling the flat ground in between.
The town has long been associated with water. Small channels run beside many streets, carrying water from the surrounding hills through the centre, and these fine lines add texture to the map. Nagai is also known for its flowers, especially the iris garden and the azalea park, which draw visitors in early summer and appear as green patches among the houses.
The Yamagata Railway Flower Nagai Line links the town with Akayu, its single track running through the basin like a thread. A Nagai map poster shows a small snow-country town where river, mountains, rice fields and street grid sit in close balance, each season changing the scene without changing the plan.

Street water channels
Narrow waterways run beside roads in the centre, a detail of Nagai's townscape that becomes a set of fine parallel lines in a minimalist drawing.
Flower parks
The iris garden and azalea park appear as open spaces in the urban fabric, places that fill with visitors during their blooming seasons.

Perché Nagai
Una mappa che ha un significato
People who know Nagai tend to remember it through the seasons: deep snow, cherry blossom, irises in June. A map sets those memories against the actual shape of the town, with the river and mountains close at hand.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name or a date that matters. Five styles are available, including Paper and Sand for a softer look and Blueprint or Noir for stronger contrast, alongside Classic black & white.
