La mappa
Nouna Map Poster & Print
Nouna is the capital of Kossi Province in the Boucle du Mouhoun region of northwestern Burkina Faso, not far from the border with Mali. It serves as a market and administrative centre for a wide rural area. From above, the town is a compact grid of streets set in a flat, open landscape of fields and savanna.
The town is known well beyond the region for its health research centre, which has followed the health of the local population for decades and contributed to studies across West Africa. This long-standing work has made the name Nouna familiar in international public health.
A Nouna map poster shows a town of clear structure and generous surroundings. The main roads meet in the centre, a regular block pattern fills the built area, and tracks run outward into the countryside. In black and white, the composition is simple and restful, with space around the town playing as large a role as the streets.

Regional crossroads
Roads leave the town toward the rest of Kossi Province and the Mali border, giving the map clear lines that reach toward the edges.
Open savanna
Beyond the town, the flat landscape is marked by fields and scattered paths, a light, spacious texture that frames the built area.
