The Buzuluk River
The river loops past the town in wide meanders. It is the only strongly curved line on the map, and it contrasts with the street grid.

La mappa
Novoanninskiy Map Poster & Print
Novoanninskiy is a town in the northwest of Volgograd Oblast and the administrative centre of the district of the same name. It stands on the Buzuluk River, a tributary of the Khopyor, in open steppe country given over largely to grain farming. From above, the town is laid out as a fairly regular grid of long blocks, with private houses and gardens making up much of it.
The river gives the map its one strong curve. The Buzuluk winds past the town in loops, its valley marked by strips of trees and meadow that stand out against the ploughed land. A railway line and the main roads run through in straighter lines, and their angles against the river make the most interesting part of the composition.
A Novoanninskiy map poster keeps things plain and clear, which suits the place. The grid of streets forms a steady field of rectangles, the river cuts past in a free, looping line, and the wide agricultural land around the town fades into open space at the edges of the sheet.
