Twin towns
Nubl and al-Zahraa sit very close to each other on the plain. Their two clusters of streets appear side by side on the map, divided by a narrow band of fields.

La mappa
Nubl Map Poster & Print
Nubl lies on the flat agricultural plain north-west of Aleppo, only a short distance from the neighbouring town of al-Zahraa. On the map, the two appear almost as a pair: separate compact clusters of streets with fields between them. Nubl itself has a dense centre of narrow lanes and closely built houses, spreading outward into looser blocks at the edges.
The land around the town is farmed, and roads cut across the plain in long lines toward Aleppo and nearby villages. Field boundaries form a broad, irregular patchwork, and the flat terrain gives the whole area an open, horizontal feel. The towns went through a long and difficult period during the Syrian war, and their layout remains a quiet record of a close community.
A Nubl map poster shows the town's clear shape against the plain: a strong centre, a surrounding ring of newer streets and the open land beyond. For people from Nubl, whether they still live there or far away, it is a detailed and personal image of home.

Dense centre
The older core forms a tight knot of lanes and houses. It is the most detailed part of the map, with lines loosening as they move outward.
Open plain
Farmland surrounds the town in a wide patchwork, crossed by long rural roads that connect it to Aleppo and neighbouring villages.
