Harbour and marina
Basins, piers and cruise quays line the waterfront. Together they form a sequence of angular shapes along the coast and give the town centre its most distinctive outline.

La mappa
Oranjestad Map Poster & Print
Oranjestad lies on the sheltered southwest shore of Aruba, where the island faces calmer water. The coastline here is flat and gently curved, protected by a line of reefs and small islands offshore. On a map, the town is a loose grid behind the harbour. Its streets fan out across low ground into residential districts that gradually give way to open, dry land.
The waterfront is the busiest part of the drawing. Cruise terminal quays, a marina and harbour basins cut into the shore, with a coastal road running along them. Just to the southeast, the runway of Queen Beatrix International Airport runs parallel to the coast. It is a long straight line that anchors the lower part of the frame and contrasts with the softer town streets.
The town takes its name from the Dutch House of Orange. Its older streets keep their Dutch colonial buildings, including Fort Zoutman, the oldest structure on the island. An Oranjestad map poster brings together the compact colonial centre, the working harbour and the reef line in a clean black and white layout that suits a bright room.

Airport runway
The runway lies along the shore right beside the town. This single bold stroke makes the southeastern edge of the map instantly recognisable.
Offshore reefs
Low islands and reef edges run parallel to the coast. They shelter the harbour and add a second, broken shoreline just off the mainland.
