La mappa
Overland Map Poster & Print
Overland is an inner-ring suburb in St. Louis County, Missouri, northwest of the city of St. Louis. Its map shows a classic mid-century American pattern: residential streets arranged in regular blocks and gentle curves, crossed by a few busier arterial roads lined with shops and services, with neighbouring municipalities pressing in on every side.
Much of the town took shape in the decades after the Second World War, when new housing spread across former farmland beyond the city limits. Today it sits within a continuous suburban fabric, so its boundaries are barely noticeable on the ground but clear on a map, where major roads and highways frame the surrounding area.
An Overland map poster turns an ordinary suburban street plan into a crisp graphic composition. The repetition of streets, the occasional park and the strong lines of the main roads create a balanced design, and for residents it offers a way to see the neighbourhood, the familiar commute and the blocks where they live as a single image.

Arterial roads
A few busier roads cross the town and carry most of its commerce, standing out as bolder lines against the quieter residential streets around them.
Small parks
Parks and green spaces break up the residential pattern, appearing as open shapes that give the composition its pauses and a sense of scale.

Una mappa che ha un significato
Overland is the kind of place people remember in fine detail: the corner where they learned to ride a bike, the route to school, the first house they bought. A map poster brings those memories together, framed simply and without fuss.
