Historic town grid
A small square of straight, older streets marks the original settlement. It is the only regular grid in a map otherwise made of curves.

La mappa
Pflugerville Map Poster & Print
Pflugerville lies just northeast of Austin, where the Blackland Prairie begins to roll east. From above, its small original town grid sits at the centre of a much larger area of newer subdivisions, whose curving streets and cul-de-sacs spread out in every direction. Gilleland Creek winds through town with green space along its banks.
The town takes its name from the Pfluger family, German immigrants who settled here in the nineteenth century. For much of its history it was a small farming community, but in recent decades it has grown rapidly into one of the larger suburbs of the Austin area. Lake Pflugerville, a reservoir east of the centre, is a popular spot for walking and paddling.
A Pflugerville map poster shows a Texas town in the middle of fast growth. The tight historic grid, the sweeping curves of the new neighbourhoods, the broad lines of toll roads like State Highway 130 and the smooth shape of the lake all fit together into a varied, well-balanced composition.

Lake Pflugerville
The reservoir east of town appears as a clean, open shape. Parkland surrounds it, and it gives the composition a calm focal point.
Gilleland Creek
The creek winds through Pflugerville, with green belts along much of its course. It draws a soft, irregular line through the suburban street pattern.
