The Black River
The river winds along the eastern side of town. Its wooded bottomland separates the bluff from the flat farmland beyond.

La mappa
Poplar Bluff Map Poster & Print
Poplar Bluff is the county seat of Butler County in southeast Missouri. The town sits on high ground above the Black River, right where the Ozark hills to the west give way to the flat, drained farmland of the Missouri Bootheel to the east. The map shows that change clearly.
Railways made the town. Lines converge here, and the rail yards and tracks run through the centre in long, straight bands. Poplar Bluff calls itself the Gateway to the Ozarks, and Lake Wappapello and the Mark Twain National Forest are within easy reach.
A Poplar Bluff map poster sets the town's grid against the curves of the Black River and the rougher terrain to the west. To the east, straight roads and drainage ditches head out across the lowlands. Few small towns show a landscape boundary this plainly.

Perché Poplar Bluff
Una mappa che ha un significato
People from Poplar Bluff often describe it as the place where the hills end. A map makes that visible and gives a small Missouri town a clean, confident presence on the wall.
Change the title to a family name, add a year or keep the coordinates line. Classic black & white works well for the rail lines, and Sand gives the river country a warmer tone.
