Poronai River mouth
The river loops through flat, marshy land before reaching the sea beside the town. Its curving channels and side arms give the poster soft, organic lines next to the rigid street grid.

La mappa
Poronaysk Map Poster & Print
Poronaysk lies on the east coast of Sakhalin Island, where the Poronai River enters the Gulf of Patience, an arm of the Sea of Okhotsk. The map is shaped by water. The river winds through low, wet ground toward the sea, and the town's streets sit between the channel and the shoreline, with the open gulf filling one side of the frame.
Before 1945 the town was part of Japanese Karafuto and was known as Shikuka. A pulp and paper mill built during that period long dominated the local economy. The street pattern still combines older, straighter blocks with Soviet-era housing districts, and the harbour and industrial areas lie close to the water.
A Poronaysk map poster captures a place that very few maps show in any detail. The pale gulf, the meandering river and the rail line running north and south along the island together make a clear composition, especially in the Blueprint or Noir styles.

Gulf of Patience
The wide bay of the Sea of Okhotsk forms an unbroken edge on the eastern side of the town. On the poster, this empty water balances the dense streets and gives the design room to breathe.
Rail line and port
A railway follows the coast through the town, and the harbour sits close by. Together they form strong linear features that show how the settlement grew along its routes of supply.
