Street grid
Blocks laid out at right angles form the town and are cut by wider avenues. The pattern looks especially crisp in Classic black & white and Blueprint.

La mappa
Punta Alta Map Poster & Print
Punta Alta lies on the southern coast of Buenos Aires Province, on the northern shore of the Bahía Blanca estuary and a short distance southeast of the city of Bahía Blanca. The town grew up alongside the Puerto Belgrano naval base, the largest in Argentina, which was built in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and still shapes the town's identity.
On a map the town is a clear, regular grid of blocks, typical of Argentine planning, crossed by wide avenues. To the south, the naval base covers a large area of docks, basins and piers along the water. Beyond it, the estuary opens into a maze of channels, tidal flats and low islands.
The coast here also has a place in scientific history. In 1832, during the voyage of the Beagle, Charles Darwin collected fossils of extinct giant mammals at Punta Alta, finds that helped shape his later thinking. A Punta Alta map poster brings together the ordered streets of the town and the wide, irregular edges of the estuary.

Puerto Belgrano base
The naval base's docks, basins and piers extend along the shore and add large, geometric harbour shapes to the southern part of the map.
Bahía Blanca estuary
Channels, tidal flats and islands spread across the estuary. This complex coastal pattern gives the poster its wide, open edge.
