La mappa
Randburg Map Poster & Print
Randburg lies in the north of Johannesburg, and on a map it presents the typical pattern of the city's northern suburbs. Residential streets curve and loop within large blocks, many lined by trees and garden plots, while long arterial roads cross the area and tie it to Sandton, Roodepoort and central Johannesburg.
Randburg was established as a separate municipality in 1959, bringing together a group of northern suburbs, and was later incorporated into the City of Johannesburg. Its commercial area around Ferndale has a denser grid of streets, while shallow stream valleys and green belts wind through the residential areas, breaking the built-up fabric into softer sections.
A Randburg map poster works as a portrait of suburban Johannesburg: the rhythm of long roads, the winding side streets, the parks and stream corridors in between. It suits people who grew up in its neighbourhoods, families who have moved on to other cities or countries, and anyone who knows the northern suburbs by their roads.

Curving suburbs
Residential streets bend into loops, crescents and cul-de-sacs, giving large parts of the map a soft, flowing texture typical of Johannesburg's north.
Stream corridors
Shallow valleys and green belts along local streams wind between neighbourhoods, appearing as open, unbuilt ribbons that break up the suburban pattern.
