La mappa
Ripon Map Poster & Print
Ripon, in North Yorkshire, is one of the smallest cities in England, and its map shows a compact centre shaped by water. The rivers Ure, Skell and Laver meet near the city, and the Ripon Canal reaches toward the southern edge of town, linking it with the Ure.
The old streets lead into a large market square with its tall obelisk, and the cathedral stands a short walk to the east. Its crypt dates back to the seventh century and the time of St Wilfrid. Every evening at nine, a hornblower sets the watch in the square, a tradition said to be over a thousand years old.
A Ripon map poster captures a small city with a clear centre, meeting rivers and a canal basin. Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey lie just to the southwest, adding green space and water to a wider view of the area.
