La mappa
Rixensart Map Poster & Print
Rixensart lies in Walloon Brabant, southeast of Brussels, and brings together several villages, including Genval and Rosières. On a map it looks green and loosely built: residential streets winding over gentle hills, patches of woodland, and a railway line running through with small stations along the way.
Its best-known feature is the Lac de Genval, an artificial lake created in the early twentieth century that became a popular weekend destination for people from Brussels. Its irregular outline, with villas and hotels along the shore, is easy to pick out from above. Rixensart also has a seventeenth-century château, still owned by the family that has held it for generations.
A Rixensart map poster frames the lake as a calm open shape among curving roads and woods. The quieter street pattern, compared with the dense capital nearby, gives the sheet an airy, balanced look that works particularly well in the Paper and Sand styles.
