La mappa
Saint-Laurent-du-Var Map Poster & Print
Saint-Laurent-du-Var faces Nice across the mouth of the Var River, the broad stony riverbed that meets the Mediterranean at the western end of the Baie des Anges. On a map, the river forms a wide pale corridor down one side of town, crossed by several bridges, with the runways of Nice Côte d'Azur Airport visible on the far bank.
For centuries the Var marked a border, separating France from the County of Nice until 1860, and the old village of Saint-Laurent grew up as a crossing point. Its compact historic centre sits on higher ground, while newer districts run down toward the coast and spread up the hills behind in winding roads.
Along the shore, a marina with long breakwaters and a line of beaches give the coast a precise, engineered edge, and the large Cap 3000 shopping centre sits near the river mouth. A Saint-Laurent-du-Var map poster shows how river, sea and hillside meet in a small space, with Nice just across the water.

Marina and beaches
The port's curving breakwaters and pontoons form a neat geometric shape on the coastline, flanked by straight stretches of beach along the Baie des Anges.
Hillside streets
Behind the coast, roads switch back and forth up the slopes, a loose pattern of curves and cul-de-sacs that contrasts with the flatter blocks near the water.
