La mappa

San Miguel Map Poster & Print

San Miguel is the largest municipality in Bulacan by land area. It covers the flat rice plain to the west and the forested foothills of the Sierra Madre to the east. From above, the town proper is a compact grid along the national highway. Farmland fills the lowland, and the landscape turns wilder toward the hills.

The eastern uplands hold Biak-na-Bato National Park, an area of rivers, limestone formations and caves. In 1897 Filipino revolutionaries under Emilio Aguinaldo based themselves here, and the Pact of Biak-na-Bato with Spanish colonial authorities is named after the place. The caves and river trails are still visited today, as is nearby Madlum Cave.

A San Miguel map poster brings both halves of the municipality together. The regular town streets sit on the plain, with the highway corridor to the north and roads winding east toward the hills. It records a place that is both farming town and gateway to one of the most historic landscapes of the Philippine Revolution.

01

Biak-na-Bato

The national park in the eastern hills protects caves, rivers and forest. It is historically significant as the base of the 1897 revolutionary government.

02

Town proper

The central streets form a tidy grid near the highway. Old houses and the town church give it a strong, compact outline on the map.

03

Plain to foothills

The land rises from open rice fields in the west to the Sierra Madre foothills in the east. That shift gives the poster a clear sense of direction.
