Hillside streets
Streets bend to follow the terrain rather than a strict grid, so the town's outline looks irregular and changes from one side to the next.

La mappa
Santo Antônio do Amparo Map Poster & Print
Santo Antônio do Amparo lies in the south-western part of Minas Gerais. The country around it is hilly, with coffee fields and pasture covering the slopes. The Fernão Dias highway (BR-381) passes close to the town and links it to Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. On a map the town looks compact. A tight centre sits on uneven ground, and rural roads run out across the hills.
As in many towns in Minas, the streets have to deal with slopes. Blocks near the main church and square are fairly regular. Farther out, streets curve along contours and end where the hills turn to fields. Newer neighbourhoods spread along the approach roads. In monochrome, this gives an informal, slightly irregular pattern with plenty of movement.
A Santo Antônio do Amparo map poster suits people from the town and families tied to the region's coffee farms. It is also a good choice for anyone who has driven the Fernão Dias and remembers the turn-off. It is a small place drawn at a readable scale, with space around it for the countryside it depends on.
