La mappa
Şarkışla Map Poster & Print
Şarkışla lies in the western part of Sivas province, on the high Anatolian plateau between Kayseri and Sivas. The surrounding landscape is broad and open, a patchwork of grain fields and grazing land broken by low hills. The town itself is compact, with a centre of closely spaced streets and newer blocks spreading outward in straighter lines, a pattern that sits clearly against the empty country around it.
The district is closely associated with Aşık Veysel, one of the most celebrated folk poets and musicians of the Turkish tradition, who was born in the nearby village of Sivrialan. His songs about the land and its people are still widely sung, and the village connected with him draws admirers from across the country who come to see where he lived.
A Şarkışla map poster suits those who know this upland country first hand, as well as anyone who hears Veysel's lyrics in its roads and fields. The railway and main roads crossing the plain add long lines to the composition. Digital HD files are $9, and printed posters on matte paper can be ordered with an optional wooden frame.

Steppe margins
Open fields surround the town on every side, so a wider frame gives the poster calm empty space that makes the built-up area stand out sharply.
Lines across the plain
Main roads and a railway line cross the plateau near Şarkışla, drawing long straight strokes that connect the town to Sivas and Kayseri on either side.
