Yangtze river
The wide river channel dominates the map. Its breadth reflects the higher water level of the Three Gorges reservoir along this stretch.

La mappa
Shahe Map Poster & Print
Shahe is an urban area of Wanzhou, a district of the Chongqing municipality in the Three Gorges region of the Yangtze. The map shows a city fitted into steep terrain. Streets run along the riverbank and then zigzag up the hillside, with dense blocks built wherever the slope allows.
The Yangtze is the defining feature of the area. Since the Three Gorges Dam was completed, the water level here has risen, widening the river and moving the waterfront. On the map, the broad river channel dominates, and bridges link the two banks of Wanzhou.
A Shahe map poster captures the vertical character of cities along the upper Yangtze, where roads curve with the contours and the river is always nearby. It is a portrait of an everyday neighbourhood rather than a famous landmark.
