La mappa
Sítio Novo Map Poster & Print
Sítio Novo is a municipality in the interior of Maranhão, in northeastern Brazil. The town is small and compact, with streets set close together around its centre. Beyond the edge of the built area, the map opens into a wide, lightly settled landscape of farmland and natural vegetation, reached by long country roads.
Its map is simple, and that simplicity is characteristic of the Brazilian interior: a centre that serves a large rural municipality, roads running out to scattered communities, and plenty of open land between them. The town's outline is irregular, following the roads rather than a strict plan.
A Sítio Novo map poster presents the town as it really is, without embellishment. The streets form a small, dense focus, and the roads leaving it give the print its direction. It is a modest, honest image of a place that matters most to those who know it.

Roads outward
Country roads lead from the town to rural communities, drawing long thin lines across the otherwise open landscape of the municipality.
Irregular outline
The edge of the town follows its roads rather than a planned boundary, giving the built area an organic, uneven shape.
