La mappa
Soltau Map Poster & Print
Soltau lies in the Lüneburg Heath, between Hamburg, Bremen and Hanover. From above, its centre is a compact cluster of streets along the small Böhme river, while wide areas of forest, farmland and heath stretch out in every direction, crossed by roads and the motorway to the west.
The town is widely known as the home of Heide Park, one of Germany's larger amusement parks, located just outside the centre. It also draws visitors to its thermal spa and designer outlet, and serves as a base for exploring the heath landscape.
A Soltau map poster shows the town's pleasing proportions: the winding river, the older streets near the centre and the newer neighbourhoods at the edges, all framed by open land. It is a balanced composition that captures a typical North German heath town.

Compact old centre
Short, irregular streets gather near the river, forming the densest area of the map and contrasting with the looser outer districts.
Heath and forest
Beyond the town, large open areas of woodland and heath appear as calm space, broken only by roads and scattered villages.
