Tight street mesh
Short blocks and narrow streets fill almost the whole district. In black and white they produce one of the finest, densest textures a map poster can hold.

La mappa
Stavroúpoli Map Poster & Print
Stavroúpoli lies on the western side of Thessaloniki, where the city rises from the flat land near the port toward the hills. On a map it is a tight, almost continuous mesh of streets. Short blocks are filled edge to edge with apartment buildings. The pattern is regular in places and bends where the ground climbs.
Much of the district was settled in the twentieth century, when refugees from Asia Minor and Thrace arrived after 1922. It later grew into a crowded residential area. Since 2011 it has been part of the Pavlos Melas municipality, but the old name is still in everyday use.
A Stavroúpoli map poster shows how closely a Greek suburb can be built. Streets run so near each other that the print becomes a fine web of line. Main avenues toward central Thessaloniki give the web a direction, and green higher ground at the edges lets it breathe.

Slopes above the city
The streets bend where the ground rises toward the hills west of Thessaloniki. The terrain shows through as small shifts in the grid rather than as open space.
Avenues to the centre
Wider roads lead east toward central Thessaloniki. They cut through the dense fabric and give the composition a clear sense of orientation.

Perché Stavroúpoli
Una mappa che ha un significato
Stavroúpoli is a place of family homes and neighbourhood streets, and a map of it feels personal rather than touristic. It suits anyone who grew up there, has family ties to the refugee settlement, or simply loves the texture of dense Greek neighbourhoods.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, for example with a street name or a family date. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
