Beinan River mouth
North of the centre, the Beinan River spreads into a wide, braided channel before it meets the Pacific. Its pale sandbars and shifting streams look striking in monochrome.

La mappa
Taitung Map Poster & Print
Taitung is the main city of Taiwan's southeast coast. It sits on a wide alluvial fan where the Central Mountain Range steps down toward the Pacific. From above, the streets form a regular grid that runs almost to the shoreline. The dark mass of the ocean fills one side of the map, and just to the north the braided channels of the Beinan River reach the sea.
Two green shapes stand out inside the city. Carp Mountain, a small forested hill, rises near the centre. Taitung Forest Park stretches along the coast by the river mouth, with ponds among its trees. Near the railway station lies the Beinan site, one of the most important prehistoric archaeological sites in Taiwan.
A Taitung map poster reads as a meeting of land and water: straight streets, a curving coastline, and river sandbars drawn in fine lines. Offshore lie Green Island and Orchid Island, reached by ferry and small plane. The city is the gateway to both islands, and to the valleys of the East Rift further north.

Carp Mountain
A small wooded hill rises among the city blocks. It shows as a rounded patch without streets that interrupts the grid and serves as a useful landmark on the poster.
Pacific shoreline
The coast runs as a long, gently curving line along the city's eastern edge. The forest park and seaside paths follow it for a long stretch.

Perché Taitung
Una mappa che ha un significato
Taitung is often remembered as a slower, greener side of Taiwan. People who have lived there or cycled the east coast tend to keep it close. A clean map of the grid meeting the ocean brings that sense of space into a room.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to mark a trip or a move. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional frame.
