La mappa
Trinidad Map Poster & Print
Trinidad is the larger of the two main islands of Trinidad and Tobago, and it lies just off the coast of Venezuela. Its shape is compact and almost rectangular, except in the west, where two long peninsulas reach towards the South American mainland. Chaguaramas extends from the northwest and the Cedros peninsula from the southwest, and together they enclose the Gulf of Paria.
The Northern Range runs along the north coast as a forested ridge. Port of Spain sits at its foot on the gulf, with a dense grid that spreads along the shore into a string of towns. South of the capital, the Caroni Swamp forms a large area of mangroves, known for its scarlet ibis. San Fernando is the main city in the south.
A Trinidad map poster shows an island that is urban along its western corridor and greener to the east and south. Near La Brea in the southwest lies the Pitch Lake, one of the largest natural deposits of asphalt in the world. Trinidad is also known for its Carnival and as the home of the steelpan, the only acoustic instrument invented in the twentieth century.

Northern Range
A forested mountain ridge runs along the north coast, with few roads. It forms a quiet, open band above the dense corridor of towns.
Caroni Swamp
A wide area of mangroves and channels south of Port of Spain. On the map it breaks up the coastal urban grid and gives a sense of scale.

Una mappa che ha un significato
