La mappa
Tuntum Map Poster & Print
Tuntum is a municipality in central Maranhão, in the transition zone between the humid north of the state and the drier interior. The town itself is modest in size, and on a map it appears as a compact cluster of streets at the meeting point of roads that link it to neighbouring municipalities.
Most of the municipal territory is rural, and its population is spread across villages and farmland as much as the town centre. That spread shows on the map as thin lines stretching away from the urban core, with small nodes where communities gather along the way.
A Tuntum map poster focuses on the town's grid and the roads that radiate from it. The design keeps the centre legible and lets the surrounding space remain open, which reflects the real proportion of town to countryside in this part of Brazil.

Radiating roads
Roads leave the town in several directions toward other Maranhão municipalities, drawing long lines across the otherwise quiet surroundings.
Open countryside
Large areas of the municipality are rural, so the edges of the poster stay light and spacious around the built-up core.
