Gulf of Urabá
The broad gulf fills the western side of the map. Its calm water sets off the ragged coastline and the port district that faces it, giving the composition a strong, open edge.

La mappa
Turbo Map Poster & Print
Turbo sits on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Urabá in northwestern Antioquia, one of the few places where the department reaches the Caribbean. It has long been a port for the Urabá region, whose plantations make it one of Colombia's main banana-growing areas. Boats leave from here for the coast toward the Panamanian border.
The map shows a low, flat town whose street grid runs almost to the water. The shoreline is irregular, cut by inlets, channels and strips of mangrove, and the gulf opens out as a wide empty field to the west. Inland, roads head south toward the plantation towns in straight lines across a landscape of drains and fields.
On a Turbo map poster, the contrast between water and land does most of the work. The dense rectangular blocks of the centre give way to looser settlement at the edges, while the coastline bends and frays into small points and creeks. Tides and rivers shaped this map as much as any planner did.

Mangrove margins
Mangrove-lined creeks and channels break the shoreline into fine, branching shapes. They produce some of the most intricate linework on the whole print.
Road to the plantations
The main road out of town runs south toward the banana-growing districts of Urabá. It is a straight, firm line that ties the port to the farmland behind it.

Perché Turbo
Una mappa che ha un significato
Turbo means different things to different people: a working port, a family home, a stop on the way to the coast near the Darién. A map of it keeps the shape of that shoreline in view, whether you still live there or left years ago.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to write, to mark a trip or a hometown. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint gives the gulf a cool, nautical look, while Paper keeps it soft and understated.
