Winding lanes
Roads curve to follow the hills, producing a loose, flowing street pattern that fills the sheet with gentle, irregular lines rather than a formal grid.

La mappa
Uliyazhathura Map Poster & Print
Uliyazhathura lies on the northern side of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala's capital, in the district's undulating laterite country. It is less a town with a single centre than a spread of residential neighbourhoods, and from above it appears as a dense web of lanes winding between houses, gardens and coconut and banana plots across a series of low rises and hollows.
The terrain shapes everything here. Roads follow the ridges or wrap around them, small streams and cultivated strips occupy the lower ground, and the result is a street pattern with few long straight lines. On a map, this organic network reads like a fingerprint, unique to the land it sits on and quite unlike the planned grids of newer cities.
An Uliyazhathura map poster suits people who know the area as home rather than as a destination: families who have lived here for generations, those working in the capital, and relatives now abroad. It captures the everyday geography of the place, the lanes walked to school, market and temple, in quiet, detailed black line.

Low valleys
Between the rises, lower ground with streams and cultivated strips remains lightly built, forming soft open channels across the composition.
City connections
Main roads lead south toward central Thiruvananthapuram, giving the design a clear sense of direction within the otherwise intricate neighbourhood network.
