La mappa
Vespasiano Map Poster & Print
Vespasiano lies just north of Belo Horizonte and belongs to its metropolitan region. Its growth has been shaped by the road corridor leading to Confins, where the region's main international airport is located, and the city spreads out along that axis. On a map, the older centre gives way to newer residential districts and commercial strips arranged beside the highway.
The terrain is rolling rather than steep, part of the upland landscape that surrounds Belo Horizonte, and streams cut through the municipality in shallow valleys. Neighbourhoods have filled in between these features in stages, so the street plan combines short grids of different orientations, stitched together by a few main roads.
A Vespasiano map poster captures a city in the process of taking shape: the older core, the planned blocks of recent housing, the green gaps along the streams, and the fast road running through. It suits anyone who lives on this side of the metropolitan area and knows how much has changed there in recent decades.

Patchwork of grids
Separate housing areas, each with its own street orientation, fit together like panels, giving the map a varied and lively texture.
Stream valleys
Watercourses run through shallow valleys between districts, leaving narrow undeveloped gaps that break up the built-up area and show where the land dips.
