La mappa
Viersen Map Poster & Print
Viersen lies in the Lower Rhine region of North Rhine-Westphalia, a short distance from the Dutch border and just west of Mönchengladbach. The modern town was formed in 1970 by joining Viersen with Dülken and Süchteln, and the map still shows it. There are three separate centres with their own street patterns, linked by main roads and separated by fields, woods and parkland.
The small Niers river passes through the area. To the north, the wooded Süchteln heights rise above the otherwise flat landscape and are a popular place for walks. Like much of the Lower Rhine, the town has a long textile tradition, and railway lines connect it to the Rhine-Ruhr area and the Netherlands.
A Viersen map poster is a portrait of a town with several centres. Instead of one dominant core, the design shows three clusters of streets, each with its own shape, held together by roads and rail. Many people from the area will recognise the layout immediately.

Süchteln heights
A wooded ridge rises north of Süchteln. On the map it shows as an area of trails and open ground, set apart from the surrounding streets.
Niers valley
The Niers river winds through low meadows in the area. It is a thin, meandering line that softens the edges of the built-up districts.
