La mappa
Wilmington Map Poster & Print
Wilmington sits on the east bank of the Cape Fear River in southeastern North Carolina, a few miles inland from the Atlantic. From above, the old downtown is a tidy grid running back from the riverfront, while newer districts spread east across a low peninsula laced with creeks, marshes and tidal inlets toward Wrightsville Beach and the Intracoastal Waterway.
The river has shaped the city since colonial times, when Wilmington became the state's main port. Across the water from downtown, the battleship USS North Carolina is moored as a memorial. More recently, the city has become a centre for film and television production, with studios drawing crews to the area for decades.
A Wilmington map poster shows the city framed by water on two sides: the broad Cape Fear to the west and the barrier islands and sounds to the east. The downtown grid, the historic district and the roads running out toward the beaches make a composition that is both recognisable and balanced.

Historic district grid
The older part of the city is laid out in a regular grid of blocks, one of the most recognisable patterns on the map and the heart of the historic district.
Toward the sounds
East of the city, creeks and marshes lead to the Intracoastal Waterway and Wrightsville Beach, where the land breaks into narrow islands and channels.

Perché Wilmington
Una mappa che ha un significato
Wilmington draws students, retirees, film crews and young families, and many of them form a strong attachment to its mix of river and coast. A map poster keeps both in one frame and suits a beach house as well as a city flat.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates to mark a wedding, a graduation or a first address. Five styles are available, and the Blueprint and Sand options suit a coastal setting especially well. Files are $9, with printed posters shipped from partners in 30+ countries.
