Yangtze north bank
The river runs along the district's edge in a broad sweep. It is by far the largest shape on the map and gives the whole composition its direction.

La mappa
Xinzhou Map Poster & Print
Xinzhou is a district of Wuhan on the north bank of the Yangtze, downstream from the city centre. On a map the river forms its long southern and eastern edge, wide and gently curving. The interior is scattered with lakes, ponds and a network of channels typical of the flat, water-rich plain of central Hubei.
The urban core sits close to the river and has grown steadily as Wuhan expands outward. The Yangluo port area and industrial zones line parts of the waterfront, and expressways and bridges tie the district to the rest of the city. Away from the centre, fields and fish ponds still take up much of the land.
A Xinzhou map poster is less about a dense old centre than about the balance between water and land: a heavy band of river, bright pools of lakes and a spreading lattice of roads. It is a strong subject for the Blueprint or Noir styles, where the water shapes stand out especially clearly.

Lakes and ponds
Inland, dozens of lakes and rectangular fish ponds break up the farmland. They form a pattern of irregular and geometric water shapes that is striking in monochrome.
Yangluo port
Wuhan's major container port lies in Xinzhou. Its quays, storage yards and access roads add large, angular blocks to the riverside on the poster.

Perché Xinzhou
Una mappa che ha un significato
A map of Xinzhou suits people who know Wuhan beyond its famous centre, whether they work at the port, grew up in a lakeside village or moved into one of the new residential districts. The river and lakes make it an unusually graphic image.
