Castle Hill
The Cerro del Castillo rises above the old town, and the streets bend around its lower slopes, creating the most intricate part of the map.

La mappa
Yecla Map Poster & Print
Yecla stands on the high plain of the Altiplano in the north of the Region of Murcia, close to the borders with Albacete and Alicante. On a map the old town climbs the lower slopes of the Cerro del Castillo in narrow, irregular streets. Newer districts spread out in a straighter pattern across the flat land below, and beyond them vineyards and fields cover the plain.
Wine is central to Yecla's identity. The town gives its name to its own denomination of origin, known especially for Monastrell, and it also has a long furniture-making tradition. Nearby, Monte Arabí holds prehistoric rock art that is part of the UNESCO-listed rock art of the Mediterranean Basin, and the blue-tiled dome of the Basílica de la Purísima marks the skyline.
The Yecla map poster contrasts the tight old quarter under the castle hill with the orderly expansion across the plain and the long rural roads heading toward the vineyards. The balance between slope and flatland gives the composition a clear centre of gravity, which is especially striking in the warm tones of the Sand style.

Old town lanes
Beneath the hill, narrow, winding streets and small blocks form a dense historic quarter that contrasts with the straighter streets of later growth.
Vineyard plain
Rural roads run outward across the flat Altiplano through vineyards and farmland, leaving wide open space around the compact town.

Perché Yecla
Una mappa che ha un significato
Yecla is home to families whose ties to the land run through vineyards and workshops, and wine lovers exploring inland Murcia often visit. A map of its hill and streets captures the town without relying on labels or clichés.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a vintage year or a family name. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as $9 HD files in six sizes or a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
