Stanitsa grid
Long parallel streets and large rectangular blocks show the typical Cossack settlement plan. On the poster this creates an even rhythm across the whole sheet.

La mappa
Yessentukskaya Map Poster & Print
Yessentukskaya is a stanitsa in Stavropol Krai, next to the spa town of Yessentuki. On a map it shows the familiar layout of a southern Russian Cossack settlement. Long, straight streets run in parallel, and cross streets divide the land into generous blocks with household plots. It is a wider, more rural pattern than the denser spa towns around it.
The stanitsa belongs to the Caucasian Mineral Waters region, known for its mineral springs and sanatoriums. The Podkumok River flows through the valley nearby. On clear days, the snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus are visible to the south. Cossack settlement shaped the area in the nineteenth century, and the old grid still shows it.
A Yessentukskaya map poster gives the stanitsa its own frame instead of treating it as a suburb. Long streets run across the sheet in steady lines, the river valley adds a curve, and at the edges the streets of Yessentuki start to press in. The effect is orderly and calm, and the map is easy to read.

Podkumok valley
The river and its valley run nearby, and their meandering line softens the straight streets. They also connect the stanitsa to the neighbouring spa towns.
Spa-town neighbours
Yessentuki lies close by, and in a wider frame its denser streets meet the stanitsa. The contrast between the two layouts is clear from above.
