Irrigation canals
Thin, straight waterlines run through the farmland around the town. They carry river water from the Amu Darya system and give the surrounding plain its regular, measured look.

La mappa
Yylanly Map Poster & Print
Yylanly lies in the Dashoguz province of northern Turkmenistan, where irrigation water from the lower Amu Darya has turned desert into farmland. Seen from above, the town is a tight cluster of streets surrounded by long rectangular fields. Straight canals and farm tracks cut across them in both directions, and the whole plain looks ruled rather than grown.
The town's layout reads clearly in black and white. A few main roads run through the centre and join the routes to neighbouring settlements. Residential blocks fill the spaces between them, and the grid loosens where houses give way to fields and water channels. Few places show so plainly how a settlement depends on the water around it.
A Yylanly map poster suits anyone with family or working ties to the Dashoguz region, or anyone drawn to Central Asian oasis landscapes. The design keeps only the essentials: roads, waterways and built-up areas on a plain background. What remains is a precise picture of a town shaped by its canals, as legible on the wall as on a survey sheet.

Field geometry
Rectangular plots press up against the edge of town and fill much of the frame, a patchwork of lines that turns agricultural land into an abstract pattern.
Compact centre
The built-up core is small and dense, with main roads meeting near the middle and residential streets filling the blocks between them.

Perché Yylanly
Una mappa che ha un significato
People hang Yylanly because it is home, or was, or because a relative still lives there. The map records a real place with few public images and gives it the same careful treatment as any capital.
You can set your own title, add a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Then choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to suit the room it hangs in.
